We all got in the truck and off we were to Sea World. It is just a short drive
from the Disney World area. As soon as we got in to Sea World's gates, we took off in the direction of Shamu Stadium to watch the show 'One Ocean' - a performance at a outdoor aquarium with whales. It was very entertaining; a very good show! At one point in the performance, it appeared that two whales were on stage kissing.
After the whale show, we walked around, touched young dolphins at the
Dolphin Nursery, and took in the sights.
We happened upon the Stingray Lagoon. Pops & I can remember taking
our three daughters, (Kristyn, Kara & Kelsey), to this area years ago
and how much they loved touching the stingrays as they swam by.
Terryn & Kolton loved touching the stingrays, as well.
We walked toward the Dolphin Theater to watch the Dolphin Show at 1:30. The sun was beating down on us as we waited over half an hour in the full sun for the show to begin. It was really a hot and humid day. It was a awesome, very entertaining show with dolphins, acrobats, & divers performing. Terryn said that when she grows up she wants to be one of the acrobat performers
at the Dolphin Show.
After the Dolphin Show, we trekked to the Journey to Atlantis where Pops and Terryn rode
the ride twice while Kolton (aka Scaredy Cat) & MaMa watched from the ground.
Kolton, may have not rode the ride, but he got wetter than everyone because he was in
the splash area whenever a group came down the drop off.
We walked around some more....did I say it was HOT & HUMID today!!!
The kids each bought a souvenir and then we were ready to head back to the campground. We were all hungry since we did not eat at Sea World so we ate an early dinner at Trails End, walked to the boat area and got back to the campground just before the rain set in for the rest of the evening.
Terryn & Kolton played in the sand at the beach after dinner.
We had a great time today and really enjoyed the shows at Sea World. The only downer
was the heat & humidity....it really zapped our energy. We used
sunscreen today, but still got a little sun burnt.
