This morning we pulled out of the campground at Swift
Current at 8:20. This is a travel day
….destination was going to be Tillebrook Providence Park near Brooks, Canada
but we were all for traveling further so the destination is somewhere in the Banff area (which is
almost twice as far as we originally planned to travel today). Banff area has more to see so we might spend some
extra time there if we decide we want to.
Today, the larger cities we traveled through was Medicine
Hat, Brooks, Strathmore, Calgary, & Canmore. Banff National Park is just a few miles away so I’m sure
there will be some interesting sights in store for us there.
We drove around Calgary, Canada. I looked it up...Calgary has 1,120,225 population and is expected to grow 120,000 in the next 5 years. It looked like houses were maybe 4 feet from each other .... can't imagine living like that; makes me thankful that I grew up in a rural area. We were happy to see that there was a highway that went around Calgary.
After we got around Calgary, the scenery really started getting beautiful as we drove closer and closer to the Canadian Rocky Mountains.
Notice the mountains in the horizon below.

We are staying overnight (maybe longer) at the Spring Creek Mountain Village RV Park in Canmore, Alberta, Canada nestled in the valley surrounded by beautiful snow capped mountains. OMG!!!......absolutely "beautiful" here!!!

ReplyDeleteYour new campsite isn't quite as nice as the one in Swift Current, but it will have to do ... LOL.

That would make a pretty postcard.
Glad to see you are in such beautiful scenery.
Miss you already, take care, TnT

ReplyDeleteOuch! Over $47 for a campsite Hope they are not all that expensive up there. Will put a real damper on the budget.
