Just a few miles down the road on the way to Sheridan WY, we got a sampling of probably what the worst roads that we will travel in Alaska will be. The roads, however, were not in Alaska; the road was a fairly long section of Hwy 16 West starting in the area of Jewel Cave. Sometimes it was just barely wide enough for our RV to get through. Luckily, we traveled it today (Sunday), because we would have had some long traffic waits at that road construction area. Needless to say, we were glad to see that construction area come to a end.
I snapped a few pictures on the route today. I kept trying to get pictures of the antelope along the way but didn't have much luck with that.

It was exciting to see the snowcapped mountains in the horizon. Beautiful sight, for sure.
We rolled into our destination at approximately 1:00 pm. We are staying at Peter D' RV Park in Sheridan is a nice, small & friendly park. ($32 F H/U x 2 nights = $64 csh)
a cute graphic sign at the RV Park
We unhooked the RV, ate a bite and later we all went to Walmart. After we went to Walmart, we pulled into the park and Peter, the park's owner waved at us and we talked to him for a bit. He suggested that if we were going to eat dinner out, that he highly recommended Wyoming Rib Chop House. It didn't take much to twist our arms, as we decided to put off grilling pork loin until tomorrow, and go try the Wyoming Rib Chop House instead since some of us were craving some BBQ. We all ordered the baby back ribs, and yes, they were finger licking good.
Drum Roll please.......we get to add a new sticker to our RV Travel Map........the state of Wyoming. I just love adding those stickers!!!
Feeling blessed, as we left Custer SD this morning and today they had bad storms and golf-ball size hail in Custer and Billings...so glad we didn't have to deal with that.

I bought the exact same map at an RV a few years ago and forgot all about it. I put it in a closet. I'll have to haul it out and use it after seeing how much fun it is watching you add each state.
