Day 1 - May 22, 2015 - Our Vacation with Our Two Grandchildren

Our grandchildren, (Terryn & Kolton), stayed all night with us last night in our RV so we could leave for VACATION at 7:15 a.m. We woke up by the alarm and got ready to leave.  Today is exciting as we have planned this vacation to Disney World for probably a year at least.  Actually, Bob & I have been planning on taking our grand kids to Disney World probably since they were toddlers....we planned to take them at the ideal age.  Terryn is 9 years old and Kolton is 7; we think they are the perfect age to go to Disney World.  The deal was, that the grand kids had to do good in school this year. Yesterday, March 21st, was their last day of school and they both got pretty good report cards. We felt they both tried extra hard so they could go on this special trip.

We loaded in the truck, buckled our seat belts and departed from Indian Creek Campground (near Monroe City MO).  Terryn & Kolton quickly put on ear phones and picked out a movie to watch on the mobile DVD players.  That is an investment worth making if traveling with kids....keeps them occupied for a long time.

We stopped in Sikeston MO for lunch at Lambert's - (Home of the Throwed Rolls).  The kids thought that was pretty cool that they threw hot dinner rolls across the room to you when you rose your hand signalling that you wanted a roll.  Terryn caught a couple of rolls; Kolton wanted to but was too bashful.

After lunch, we continued on the trip until we reached our destination for this Memorial Day Weekend.  We are staying at Tom Sawyer RV Park in Memphis, Arkansas.  Pops and I stayed here four years ago when we first started full-time RV'ing.

Our site is right along the edge of the Mississippi River; we are just a few steps away from the river's edge. What a great view...tugboats moving barges down the river and around the bend.

We got settled in our site and while Pops and the kids explored outside, I fixed tacos for supper.
