Day 2 - DayTrip to the Pyramid-Shaped BASS PRO SHOP in Memphis, TN

Today, we have plans to drive across the Mississippi River to Memphis, TN to go to the new pyramid-shaped BASS PRO SHOP.  It is visible while crossing the bridge and is located on the left hand side.

After we found a place to park the truck, we walked to the entrance to the store.

We headed to the elevator that takes you 25 stories high so you can walk out on some lookouts outside. We were able to get a very good view of Memphis from the lookouts.  It cost $10 for adults and $5.00 for children to ride the glass-enclosed elevator.  Once we were at the top, they offered complimentary drinks and complimentary photographs.

After we rode back down the elevator, we looked around the store.  There were wild boar mounts, deer mounts, live alligators, live catfish in aquariums, and much more to look at.

We ate lunch at the restaurant in Bass Pro call Uncle Buck's.  After standing in line for an hour, we finally got seated.  The kids had chicken tenders and Pops & I had fish & chips.... the food was okay, but nothing special.

After eating lunch, we walked around until we came across an arcade; the kids shot a gun at targets there.

We finally had seen about as much as we wanted to see at Bass Pro, so we headed back to the Tom Sawyer RV Resort.

Back at the campground, we sat outside and enjoyed the view of the Mississippi River and watched the barges and other boats go up and down the river.

The kids played some yard games.

Later, we gathered some wood and made a camp fire.  We roasted hot dogs and marshmallows for supper, and watched a little television after dark.
