Day 4 - Travel Day to Montgomery, Alabama

This was just a travel day for us.  We traveled from Memphis, Arkansas to Montgomery, Alabama. We traveled through 4 states today:  Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Alabama.

Bob set the GPS to take us to Guntner Corp of Engineers Campground using the GPS coordinates because the website did not have an address for the campground.  Well, we found out that was not the thing to do after we get down a gravel road to a closed gate to the Corp property.  It was raining, muddy and no good place to turn our big rig around so Bob got some good experience backing up the rig for probably a mile or more.  While he backed up, I walked to try to guide him because the road was muddy and soaked from the rain.  Luckily, we got to the end of the road and got it turned around without getting stuck.  I hate it when things like that happens.

He stopped at a gas station and got "good directions"....and about a half hour later we were pulling into the campground.  It was a nice Corp of Engineers campground, having several concrete pull-thru sites.  Last year the park upgraded a lot of their sites.

We didn't get to explore the campground or area much because it was raining.  I did notice this area has a lot of huge trees, many with spanish moss hanging from the branches.  Also, unfortunately, we must have just missed the peak of the magnolia trees...the blossoms were open and falling off the trees....bet it was beautiful a week earlier.

I thawed spaghetti sauce that I had in the freezer and cooked spaghetti...and called it supper.  The kids always eat good when I fix spaghetti.

That pretty well summed up today.
