We road motor coach along the Klondike Highway. The driver stopped at Emerald Lake on the way for picture taking.
In Fraser, BC, we boarded a train for a hour & forty five minute train ride through the White Pass. The train even had a little oil heat stove to keep it warm inside.

Some pictures taken while on the train of scenery from Fraser, B.C. to Skagway, Alaska:
Skagway was the gateway to the Klondike Gold Rush of 1898. In only 5 months, between July and November of 1898, the US Mints in Seattle and San Fransisco received ten million dollars worth of Klondike Gold. By 1900, another thirty-eight million dollars had been recorded...the result of the largest gold rush the world has ever known.
Skagway is at sea level (elevation is 0)

Cruise ships dock in Skagway so that the people on board can explore Skagway.
We were in Alaska today, but our RV's & trucks were not. We still have approx. 513 miles to go before we will be in Alaska again, this time with our "home on wheels".
While I was in Skagway, we were able to use our cell phones so I called home and wished my Mom & Dad a Happy 64th Anniversary. Mom said Dad was not feeling too well today...sure hope he gets feeling better.
Jesse & Ginger and Bob & I decided we were going to stay one more night at this campground because there is some more things we want to see here in Whitehorse. ($39.69Cap -1 more night)
Have a good rest of the day! It gets what they call "dark" here at 11:15 pm....it still seems light outside to us.
