A beautiful lake we passed by ...the water looked like glass.
We pulled in the Town & Country RV Park in Palmer around 11:15 am. There was no one in the office but there was a sign on the door to find & get in a site and fill out a envelope & leave payment.
We are staying here at the RV Park for a week; weekly rate $195.00 Full H/U, 30 amp,WiFi (good so far).
Plans are to go to the sights this week in Palmer, Anchorage, etc., while staying parked at this campground. Sounds like a good plan to me; I don't like moving every day or two. I am hoping we get a couple of "do nothing days" in. The inside of the camper & truck could use a good cleaning and I could use some "chill" time.
After we parked and set up our RV's, we decided we had a long day yet and the weather was good, so we took the opportunity and hand washed the outside of our RV and truck. They were filthy but they look much better now.
It was my day to be the cook. Bob & I have been craving some good ole fried chicken so I fixed that along with mashed potatoes, gravy & buttered corn. I really like this taking turns with Ginger, being the cook. I'm sure it is saving us both on groceries and it is nice to have every other day "OFF" from cooking. We both agree that when we have eaten at restaurants in Canada & Alaska, that the food is not all that good but expensive. In both Canada & Alaska, a burger and fries at a restaurant is normally $13.95 to $15.95. I think that is crazy high!!! I'll look at the menus and for the most part you can't get anything to eat for under $13.95. Salads are just as high. I most always drink water at a restaurant to keep costs down. I hate paying crazy prices and then not really liking the food.
Tomorrow there is 90% chance of rain here; suppose to start raining tonight sometime. I'm sure we will find some things to do/see indoors.
I am adding a chart that is interesting about the weather, daylight hours, etc. in Alaska.
