We arrived at Trapper Creek at around 12:15 pm. I am the cook today so I decided to fix a late lunch instead of dinner this evening. As soon as we got to the campgound and I opened up the RV, I started cooking so that we could eat soon...I was getting hungry and knew the others probably were too. I fixed cheese tortellini with sun-dried tomato creamy alfredo sauce & sliced sausage, Normandy Blend Vegys, and garlic bread. Bob even helped me cook; he must have been hungry also. The meal was ready at 1:15. Ginger & Jesse came over and we ate lunch. After lunch, we decided to drive to Talkeetna and look around.
Talkeetna is about 30 miles from Trapper Creek. It is a quaint little town that caters to tourists. The little historical town is full of several little gift shops, shops with local artists creations, a couple of museums, coffee shop, pizza place, bars, etc. They offer jetboat tours, train ride, scenic flights, riverboat fishing trips, float trips, & raft trips; don't think we will be doing any of that due to the weather conditions & tomorrow's forecast. The streets were busy with tourists going in and out of the shops and walking around the blocks of shops. The light rain and sprinkles didn't seem to slow the tourists down.
One of the businesses in this little town was in a Yurt. I have seen a few of these in Alaska and was close to one so I went in. I thought they were interesting. They must get questioned about it often because they had information on a wall about this tent-like place they conduct business in. This particular one has been up for
14 years.

This is what the ceiling inside looked like.
This picture shows the ceiling meeting up with the walls.

Talkeetna's town mascot must have been a 'MOOSE'. There was moose all over town.
HAVE A GOOD REST OF THE DAY!!!
