Day 1 of Our RV Journey To Canada & Alaska 5/13/14 - (Travel Day today to IOWA)

Today we begin our four month journey to Canada & Alaska.  Over the past weekend, we did a lot of visiting with family & friends and said our goodbyes (which we still have a hard time doing everytime we leave).

Yesterday we were busy putting extra chairs, camping equipment, etc. in storage in an attempt to lighten our load.  We also washed the car, truck and camper, as well as made some last minute visits and enjoyed dinner & visiting with our daughter, Kristyn, and Terry and our very special grandkids, Terryn & Kolton.

We left Indian Creek Campground (near Monroe City MO) at 8:30 this morning.  As always, we say a prayer for safe travels and for God to take care of our family & friends.  This is just a "travel day" for us. Our destination today is Waubonsie IA and we will be staying overnight at Waubonsie State Park (electric only site @ $16/night AB).

Since we are in Iowa & staying overnight in Iowa, we get to add that state to our RV Map of Travels that we display on the outside of our Living Room slide of our 5th Wheel (per our rules of the map).

As soon as we parked, set up & paid for our site we fueled up in a nearby town called Percival IA (diesel @ $3.939/gal x 34.526 gal = $136.00 Ch)

Total miles traveled today = 324 miles

  2. Ha!!

It took an epic adventure like an Alaskan trip to coax you into doing a blog.. ha ha.

We are so thrilled to be able to travel along with you through your writing.

Praying for your travelling safety, and praying that your Alaskan adventure exceeds your dreams.

Knowing Bob, he will look for a homestead up north where he can fish and hunt all day, while Janet keeps the home fires burning with her crafts and awesome cooking!!

    Hugs, TnT
