Day 11 of Our RV Journey to Canada & Alaska 5/23/14 (Lunch & Visit with Trent & Teresa/Guys Night Out at Stock Car Races)

This morning I was awoken by Bob backing his truck close to the nose of the camper.  Since I was awake anyway, I thought I better go help him as I knew he was probably getting ready to wash all the bug guts off the camper.  He puts a short step ladder on the gate of the truck to get to it, and it helps to have someone help out & hand him things.  We ended up doing a quick wash of the entire outside of the camper, using water sparingly.... so our home on wheels looks nice again.

Bob filled up the truck with diesel (Canadian diesel mind you)....($5.37 gal x 17.92 gal =  $92.00 Cap1)

This afternoon, we went to the restaurant, Akropol Family Restaurant,  that Teresa works at and all had lunch together.  She is working a split shift today.  The restaurant specializes in Greek food, but serves an assortment of other food too.  She introduced us to her co-workers, all who were very nice & friendly.  We enjoyed lunch and sat around visiting, then we took a walk in their quaint little downtown business area.

We went into a few of the shops downtown, visiting along the way.  It was getting time to say our goodbyes; at least to Teresa, as the guys are getting together later this evening to go to stock car races.  We gave hugs to Teresa ..... we've really enjoyed our visit with Trent & Teresa .... it's always good times with these two "little people".

Goodbyes aren't easy but knowing that they are planning a month vacation in January and are talking about going to "the Valley" in Texas....we know we will be seeing them and visiting with them in 8 months.

Tonight, the guys (Bob, Jesse & Trent) went to the stock car races here in Swift Current at the Speedy Creek Racing Association.  It was a benefit for breast cancer.  They had a good time; came back chuckling.

A sincere "THANK YOU" goes out to Trent & Teresa for their wonderful hospitality and friendship.....(now please take a rest).  You guys are the best!!!

We leave Swift Current (Saskatchewan), CANADA in the morning and will be traveling west towards Alaska.

  4. We, too, will be in the "Valley" during Jan and Feb. Dreading the cost of diesel when we head that way in 2 weeks. Thinking maybe we should have gate guarded longer than 3.5 months. Nah! I've had ENOUGH!
