Day 62 of Our RV Journey to Canada & Alaska 7/13/14 - Quiet, Rainy Sunday in Ninilchik

We had another rainy day in Ninilchik.  The sun tried to peek out of the clouds a few times but the clouds soon covered it.  It has been raining here for a week it seems.

Bob and Jesse went to Ninilchik Hardware Store just to see what they carried.  They found out some different ways Alaskans fix Halibut from the clerk as well as some other bits of information for Jesse (aka UBI) to store in his brain.  They also went to the General Store and bought their fishing license since the ones they had expired.

I called and talked to my mother this afternoon and the call was dropped 3 times during our conversation.  It was good to talk to her cause I didn't call last weekend due to the holiday weekend and a family reunion going on.  I hate the 3 hours time difference because I will think about calling home and add 3 hours to the current time and it is either meal time and they wouldn't be home, or too late to be calling.

Bob told me he talked to our neighbor lady today and she saw a bear and a cub crossing the street just down from this campground yesterday morning.  We have been wondering if there are bears around this area; that answers that question.

The guys have plans to leave here at 5:00 am tomorrow to go fishing in Soldotna....hope they catch some keepers.

We went to Jesse & Ginger's for dinner this evening.  She fixed pasta with slices of sausage in a white sauce, lettuce salad and hot bread. After eating the delicious food she prepared, we visited for awhile and went home to watch some TV.

Have a good day!!

isn't this a cutie??
